Their all-flash system beat the hybrid flash/disk systems not just on 5-year cost of ownership, but also on purchase cost and performance.<br /><br />These numbers are not directly applicable to <a href="http://blog.dshr.org/2011/05/solid-state-memory-for-archival-use.html" rel="nofollow">archival storage</a>, and the systems in question don't use <a href="http://portal.acm.org/citation.cfm?id=1629577" rel="nofollow">FAWN</a> techniques.
